Benesh Photographers
Capturing Wisconsin's Iconic Scenery in a Photograph
Brodhead, Wisconsin. Born and raised in small town Iowa, Dick and Michele Benesh developed a love of the outdoors. Choosing photography as a hobby was a natural decision. Dick is a military veteran (Air Force Intelligence) and currently teaches German at Beloit Memorial High School. Michele earned her BS and MA from the University of Iowa and retired from the School District of Beloit in 2004.
The Beneshes ventured into photography because, as they say, "We were taking so many pictures we had to do something to keep us in film!" They are self-taught photographers and entered their first art show in 1991. They have won many awards at judged shows, including several "Best of Show" and "1st Place in Photography." They specialize in disappearing Americana, humor and international subjects. They capture subjects as they see them without special lighting, filters or fancy setups. They do all their own matting and framing with conservation materials and creative mat designs.
