A children's story book about Al Johnson's Swedish Restaurant and Butik, where the author, Jody Littler, has worked for the past eleven years. So many people had questions about the "famous goats" on the roof there that she wanted to write a story that would answer many of those questions and also be a keepsake of their trip to Door County. In late 1997, "The Little Goat on the Roof" was published.
Jody Littler grew up in Sister Bay, Wisconsin, a charming community in Door County. One of the popular landmarks of this beautiful northeast Wisconsin peninsula is Al Johnson's Swedish Restaurant and Butik and the "famous goats" on the grass roof there. Jody has fond childhood memories of eating at Al Johnson's. And she has worked there for the last eleven years. Drawing from her own experiences, she wanted to write a story that would answer many of the questions visitors have about the tradition of goats on the roof. The Little Goat On The Roof is a delightful tale told through the eyes of a little goat. For anyone who has visited or plans to visit Door County, this book makes a perfect keepsake of your trip!
